Daley Plaza, Chicago
I was most struck by the old man that watched us for most of the time we stood, and eventually, he pulled himself up with great effort to come over to us. As he bent down to get a flyer from the ground, the strain of his efforts encouraged a woman who was reading next to us to hand him several. He thanked her and painfully made his way back to his seat. He beamed at us. When we were finished, a woman came over and asked us why we did this. She said in response to seeing us, she had justed hugged a total stranger, and was grateful to us for that.
